Indications:
Cardiac plural effusion or heart base tumor
Dose:
One capsule per 10-20lbs of body weight twice daily depending on the severity.
Ingredients:
Angelica radix, astragalus, codonopsis, white peony, talc, platycodon root, fritillaria, ophiopogon root, lily bulb, scutellaria
Monitoring:
By physical examination, laboratory testing, radiographs, and or sonogram.
Contraindications:
There is no contraindication known in conjunction with conventional drugs.
Prescribing Information:
If it is for HBT, then combines with herbal H60 in equal amount. Double the dose if the pericardiocentesis fluid is pure blood, which is about 20% the time. Toxicity & reactions are extremely rare. In some extreme cases, herbal supplements may cause vomiting & diarrhea in the first 24-48 hours. Symptoms stop as soon as the herbal supplements discontinued. It’s very effective for CHF, chronic valvular disease and other cardiac disease when it is used in conjunction with H65. The combination is called HeartAssist Advanced Formula. Conventional medications can be used with this formulation.
